Kirsten Meisinger, MD

Medical Staff President

Regional Medical Director

Cambridge Health Alliance

Kirsten Meisinger, MD is the Medical Staff President for the Cambridge Health Alliance (CHA), as well as a Regional Medical Director in Primary Care. Kirsten is a national and international expert in Patient Centered Medical Home (PCMH) development and maintains an active panel as a Family Doctor at the Union Square Family Health Center, a nationally recognized PCMH practice. She is the National Faculty Co-Chair for the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) initiative Transforming Clinical Practices Initiative (TCPi) and a member of the expert panel for Australia's Health Care Homes Initiative. Kirsten earned a BA from Brown University, her medical degree from Case Western Reserve University and completed a Family Medicine Residency at the Greater Lawrence Family Health Center in Lawrence, Massachusetts. She is currently enrolled in the Master of Health Care Delivery Science at Dartmouth College (’18).

Kathryn Becker Van Haste

Kathryn has spent her career working in Congress, with positions in both the US House of Representatives and the Senate. Kathryn has extensive health policy experience, including serving as Health Policy Director for the Senate Budget Committee during multiple attempts to repeal the Affordable Care Act through the Budget process.  She has done extensive work on veterans health policy and began her Congressional health policy career working on global health initiatives.  Kathryn is passionate about reforming the US health care system and finding innovative ways to improve access to care at home and abroad.  Kathryn holds a Bachelor of Arts from The University of Vermont  and a Master of Arts in Diplomacy from Norwich University. Kathryn is currently enrolled in the Master of Health Care Delivery Science at Dartmouth College ('18).

Deepu Sasikumaran Ushakumari, MD

Clinical Director, Cardiac Anesthesia

Eastern Maine Medical Center

Deepu Ushakumari, MD was born in Kerala, India where he received his medical training and completed his Anesthesiology residency. He moved to US in 2008 and completed residency at Drexel University and fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic. He is currently serving as the clinical director of cardiac anesthesia, medical director for peri-operative autologous blood collection program, project coordinator for peri-operative quality improvement at Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor, Maine. Himself being home-born, he is passionate about maternal and child welfare in resource-poor settings. He is currently enrolled in the Master of Health Care Delivery Science at Dartmouth College ('18). 

Surya Bhatta

Country Office Program Director

One Heart Worldwide

Surya was born and raised in a small village in the Dhading district of Nepal. Surya completed public health school in Kathmandu and is a health-development practitioner with more than seven years of experience in managing and taking on leadership roles in health care development interventions.  Surya is particularly focused on the well-being of women, children, and disadvantages communities  Surya currently works as an in-country Program Director of One Heart World-Wide, a nonprofit health organization based in Nepal. He is passionate about improving the lives of those who live in need. Under his leadership, the program has been scaled up to 11 districts in rural northern districts of Nepal. Surya is currently enrolled in the Master of Health Care Delivery Science at Dartmouth College ('18). 

Andrew Martin

Regional Field Manager

100 Million Healthier Lives, IHI

Andrew (Drew) Martin is currently a Lead for 100 Million Healthier Lives, an initiative convened by The Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI). Drew has been an executive within the non profit sector since 2011 as a Vice President and Executive Director. Prior to 2011, Drew worked for Morgan Stanley as a corporate actions analyst. Drew holds degrees from Towson University (BS) and  DePaul University (MS).  Drew is currently enrolled in the Master of Health Care Delivery Science at Dartmouth College ('18).
